In the competitive landscape of smartphone manufacturing, the use of high-quality glass covers has become paramount to enhancing user experience and durability. Our project aimed to develop a next-generation glass cover for flagship smartphones, emphasizing superior scratch resistance, shatterproof capabilities, and exceptional optical clarity.
Key Features and Implementation:
1、Material Selection and Enhancement: We sourced high-aluminum silicate glass, renowned for its strength and resilience. To further bolster its properties, we implemented a chemical strengthening process, which increased the surface compressive stress by over 900 MPa, significantly enhancing its resistance to scratches and drops.
2、Optical Clarity Optimization: Understanding the importance of visual clarity, we optimized the glass polishing process to achieve a light transmission rate exceeding 92%, ensuring vivid and undistorted visuals for users.
3、Design and Manufacturing Process: Leveraging advanced CNC machining and precision molding techniques, we crafted the glass covers to precise dimensions, ensuring a seamless fit with the smartphone's body. Additionally, we implemented a 2.5D curved edge design, enhancing both aesthetics and grip comfort.
4、Durability Testing: To validate our product's durability, we conducted rigorous testing, including drop tests from various heights and angles, as well as scratch resistance tests using simulated daily wear and tear scenarios. The results demonstrated a remarkable improvement in shatter resistance and scratch tolerance.
Outcome:
The successful implementation of our high-durability glass covers has been well-received by leading smartphone manufacturers. Not only have they enhanced the overall durability and user experience of flagship devices, but they have also contributed to a significant reduction in warranty claims related to cover damage.
